Star Google Sites Visitor Statistics Tracker / Counter Installation Guide

If you want to see who visits your Google Sites website, go through the following steps to set up a detailed website tracker:

  1. Register your web visitor tracking account at tracemyip.org

  2. Log in to your account, go to "My Projects", click on "Add New Project" menu item, and select a tracker (all styles function the same

  3. Enter your Google Site's public address and name your project

  4. Select "Google Sites" from the tracker drop down menu while generating your TraceMyIP code. Google Sites does not allow embedding a JavaScript code. Therefore some features like the keywords and referrer link will not work with Google Sites. All other TraceMyIP functions will work as designed

  5. Click on the "Get Code" button

  6. Right click on and copy your new Google Sites HTML visitor tracking code

  7. Now log in to your Google Sites account. For each page that you want to track, edit it, click on the HTML button on the toolbar, and paste the code where you want it to be in your page. Before you click on the SAVE button to finish editing a "google sites" page, make use that the tracker icon appears where you have placed it. It may up to a couple of minutes for the google sites page to refresh and show the visitor tracker icon after you edit the visitor tracker code, which depends on the size of the page. Once the icon appears, click on the SAVE button to save your page.

  8. Verify that the tracker now shows up on all of your pages, but only once per page

  9. If you are a premium TraceMyIP user, you can follow this step to hide the tracker icon on your site
